Helping you succeed in both work and life
My story starts with my recent decision to quit my last company. I decided I had more to offer by becoming a solo private consultant. Given that I have worked in a multitude of jobs over 45 years, I wanted to share some real life truths of what happens in companies. Furthermore, why things happen the way they do and some real life coaching tips that may help others moving forward. And whereas I do believe in self-improvement, inspirational, motivational coaching, there are some strong truths and very candid practical coaching tips within. In contrast, some of the content may not be appreciated by many Senior or Executive type individuals. But with apologies, this is about truth, candour, succeeding, improving, and also keeping your soul. Conversely, these same Exec leaders are also invited to learn here.
This is based on my experiences and opinions. But it is not for profit. Instead, it’s just a frank helping hand with professional guidance. So by the same token, I would ask you to please be respectful in your reviews and comments. If you are the sort of person interested in the big questions like: –
- “Why did I lose my job”?
- “Why do things happen the way they do in the corporate world?”
- “How can I prepare and protect myself better for the future?”
- “How can I grow in my company, my work and life itself?”
A bit of background, my travels and jobs
But whom am I and what makes me a good source of knowledge? Well in today’s day and age, experience counts and my travels have led to work and holidays in over 26 countries globally in the last 35 years. I have worked in a large spectrum of roles to include production management, with IT roles in database management, system analysis, business analysis, architecture, project and program management, change management, transformation programs to name a few. Various sectors include Information Technology, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Banking & Insurance, Government and Hospitality & Leisure.
I’ve managed teams of over 100 people and have a flair for finding innovative solutions to extremely ambiguous business problems for many companies. But my greatest strengths (of which I am proudest) is my drive, my leadership abilities and my care for my people. I inspired my people to want to come to work and do their utmost by developing great trusting relationships. Growth, harmony and work life balance were my key objectives with my teams to help them self-actualise in their roles. As the saying goes, there is no “I” in “teams” and I never let them forget their importance to me, the work and the business as a whole. My story continues with my new blog site so I hope you like it and the articles.
My final note is that as this is my story and website, I do like promoting my content. So I would welcome you to follow me in LinkedIn and Twitter, and share.
Truth’s out,
Mike
